Hello future Panthers!  My name is Dorothy Smith and I am very excited to return and continue to grow with the students at V.L.T. Academy. After pursuing an undergraduate degree in Education at Wittenberg University and a graduate Masters Degree at Xavier University, I taught Art Education in public school classrooms. This experience enlightened me and encouraged me to pursue “Art Expressions” as an educational tool. I have enjoyed my 31 years of teaching and continue to teach.

Hello, my name is Jessica Covert Warren and I will be the new High School Chinese teacher this year at V.L.T. Academy.   I did my undergraduate work at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah and then I went on to get my Master’s degree at Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia. I lived in Taiwan for a year and a half. I love Chinese food and would love to visit Taiwan next summer. My hobbies include photography, reading and writing. I can’t wait to start a wonderful year at V.L.T. Academy. 

My name is Ms. Thompson and I graduated from Withrow International High School where I was a student athlete in track and field, volleyball and basketball. I received a basketball scholarship to Cincinnati State where I became an All-American.  After graduating with an Associates Degree in Business Management, I was recruited by the University of Kentucky to play basketball.  I completed my collegiate athletic career at Kentucky Wesleyan College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fitness and Sports Management. This will be my third year as the Health and P.E. teacher at V.L.T. Academy. I am also a part of the athletics program at V.L.T. Academy trying to establish a strong physical education curriculum for our students to succeed in. Go Panthers!
